We are officially a Capitalgrowth space, yippee!

Yes, it took a long while but finally ..we made it.
So we will be able to benefit from discounts in garden centres and training and advice they provide.
On the photos: our friend David fixing the sign on our site so that everybody can see we are part of the scheme.

And we are still building the wooden boxes... sadly none of that growing beans and peas has happened yet.
But for the boxes we have plenty of wood from reclaimed pallets that a local business donated to us or put another way: gave us instead of  throw to the skip. Nice gesture though and nice wood.

We will be using the wood to make big containers to grow veggies and softfruit and maybe a couple of dwarf apple trees. The last few days, the snow didn't let us work outside but luckily, it has melted now and we will come back to work on this project.
Soon the boxes will be ready and I promise more photos then.

What is and what should always be

We are really excited with the new look we want to give our concrete courtyard.
Last year we managed to turn it from an unloved, littered area..

.. to a fantastic herb garden where bumble bees, butterflies and ladybirds gather frantically ..

..and this year (we know it's a little late in the season but never mind, we could always grow japanese greens, broad beans, peas, hardy salad leaves, spring onions... and of course get everything ready for next season) we intend to go beyond the limits adding more containers, pots and a cold frame to grow fruit and veggies.
Watch this space for exciting changes!
